THE EXALTED LORD JESUS CHRIST
Our faith – based on Christ who died for our sins and
rose again for our justification
Our life - based on the Lord Jesus Christ who rules and reigns from
His exalted position at the Father’s right hand
Our power – based on the Holy Spirit who empowers us to “be” witnesses
of His death, resurrection & rule
Acts 2:33 “Therefore have been exalted to the right hand of God…”
- the resurrected Jesus Christ now coronated King
- the living Lord Jesus Christ now exalted & enthroned at the right hand
of God
“…having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit,
He has poured forth this which you both see and hear.”
- the exalted, coronated King pouring on His own “what the Father had
promised” (Acts 1:4) – the Holy Spirit
- the exalted, enthroned King pouring on His own His anointing
2:34 “…THE LORD SAID TO MY LORD, SIT AT MY RIGHT HAND,
2:35 “ UNTIL I MAKE THINE ENEMIES A FOOTSTOOL FOR THY FEET.” Ps 110:1
2:36 “…God has made Him both Lord and Christ –
this Jesus whom you crucified.”
Acts 5:30 “…God…raised up Jesus, whom you had put to death…on a cross.”
5:31 “He is the one whom God exalted to His right hand as a Prince and a
Savior, to grant repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins.”
5:32 “And we are witnesses of these things; and so is the Holy Spirit,
whom God has given to those who obey Him.”
- witnesses not only of His birth & death, but
witnesses of His resurrection life & enthronement/exaltation
- His incarnation & crucifixion are true history
(but He is no longer the babe in the manger or the man on the cross)
His life & exaltation is now, and it is a continuing reality
- His resurrection is not limited to historical or celebrating an event
His resurrection is a current & available life and power
His resurrection is a living & current reality
- His exaltation is a truth that lays claim on His own
His exaltation forces us to face the Living Lord who rules – rules now
His exaltation threatens a sinful & selfish lifestyle, and it is disturbing
until we yield to His rule
The Exalted Lord Jesus Christ - King
- manifested in the miraculous
Acts 4:30 “while Thou dost extend Thy hand to heal, and signs and
wonders take place through the name of Thy holy servant
Jesus.”
- the hand of God moving through the name above all names
Phil 2:9 “…God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him
the name which is above every name,”
- Father glorifying the exalted Son
Acts 3:13 “The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the God of our
fathers, has glorified His Servant Jesus…”
- Father God is “glorifying His Servant Jesus”
- while on the earth Jesus glorified the Father
Jn 17:4 “I glorified Thee on the earth…accomplished…”
17:5 “now, glorify Thou Me together with Thyself
17:6 “I manifested Thy name to the men…Thou gavest…
- now, Father God is glorifying His Son whom He exalted
The Exalted Lord Jesus Christ – High Priest
- ministering grace to those who submit to His lordship
Heb 7:26 “…fitting that we should have such a high priest…
exalted above the heavens;”
7:25 “…He is able to save forever (completely) those who draw
near to God through Him, since He always lives to make
intercession for them.”

FIGHT FOR OUR FAMILIES
Battle against our children = war against our families
- battle to keep abortion legal > continues to target life in the womb
- battle to push transgenderism > an attack against God given identity
- battle of indoctrination in public schools > an attack against minds & truth
- multi-frontal battles > war against the foundation of family
Heb 11:7 “By faith
Noah,
being warned by God
about things not yet seen,
in reverence
prepared an ark for the salvation of his household,
by which he condemned the world,
and became an heir of the righteousness
which is according to faith.”
NIV “…in holy fear built an ark to save his family…”
- building & battling for family
Biblically, attacking someone’s family was grounds for war
1) David at Ziklag:
1 Sam 27:1-7 “…escape to the land of the Philistines…” (vs 1)
“…Achish gave him Ziklag…” (vs 6)
1 Sam 30:1-5 - family kidnapped by Amalekites
30:6 “…the people spoke of stoning him…
But David strengthened himself in the Lord his God.”
- 1st David encouraged himself in the Lord
- then he asked God what to do
30:8 “…David inquired of the Lord…Shall I pursue…
He said…’Purse…you shall surely recue all.”
- you will recover everything that was taken from you
30:9-10 “…David pursued, he and four hundred men…”
30:18 “…David recovered all that the Amalekites had taken…”
30:19 “…David brought it all back.”
2) Abraham & Lot:
Gen 13:11 “…they separated from each other.”
13:12 “…Lot settled in the cities…Sodom.
13:13 “…men of Sodom were wicked exceedingly…sinners against the Lord
Gen 14:8-12 – war of the kings
14:12 “…they also took Lot…for he was living in Sodom.”
14:16 “…he brought back all the goods…his relative Lot…”
- Abraham recued Lot from his capturers while living in Sodom
Gen 18:16> Abraham interceded for Lot after returning to Sodom
18:19 “…I have chosen him, in order that he may command his children…”
Gen 19:16 “…they brought him out…”
- this time not Abraham who rescued Lot and his family
but God sending His angels with Abraham’s intercession
- Lot, as a ‘prodigal’ chose to return to Sodom
Abraham didn’t drag Lot back after rescuing him the first time,
but he interceded for Him in pray and God rescue him
Fighting for family:
- times when God will say to fight and pursue the enemy &
- times when God will deal with it Himself through our prayers
Family has been the enemy’s main target since the beginning to time.
Family is foundational – when the foundation is shaken, things quickly crumble
Ps 11:3 “If the foundations are destroyed,
What can the righteous do?”
Fighting for our families:
Rebuilding: Isa 58:12 “…rebuild the ancient ruins…
raise up the age-old foundations…”
Building: Heb 11:7 (i.e.) “…in holy fear building an ark to save our family” (NIV)
Interceding: 1 Thes 5:13 “pray without ceasing;”
