From the Pastor:
HOPE for 2023
With all the optimism, predictions and prophecies at the beginning of each new year, may ours be grounded in the hope we find in the Word of God. Two aspects of God’s hope that I pray will stabilize us in 2023 are: 1) the hope of God’s kingdom rule in our lives by His Holy Spirit, and 2) the “blessed hope” of the full manifestation of God’s kingdom with Jesus’ return.
1) The Kingdom of God is now – now in & by the Spirit of God – Rom 14:17
For us Gentiles, we “glorify God for His mercy” – Rom 15:9 – to include us in
His kingdom, and we “abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit” –
Rom 15:13.
2) The Kingdom of God is not yet – not yet fully come – Rev 11:15
For us Gentiles, we hope in Jesus “who arises to rule over the Gentiles, in Him
shall the Gentiles hope.” – Rom 15:12.
For all believers, our hope is sure, and it determines how we live now in the
anticipation of Jesus’ return to “reign forever and ever” – Rev 11:15.
For citizens of God’s kingdom now we live by “looking for the blessed hope and
the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus.” – Tit 2:13
“Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you
may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” Rom 15:13
