RADICAL REPENTANCE
Instead of being lukewarm, "the faithful and true Witness, the Beginning of the creation God, says this:" (Rev 3:14) - "Those whom I love, I reprove and discipline; be zealous therefore, and repent"(Rev. 3:19). The church whom Jesus loves, He reproves and disciplines through continuing revelations of Himself that brings repentance. His reproofs and disciplines come from painful encounters with Truth Himself. These painful examinations break the deception of our own self-righteousness and pride and allows the humbling process to take effect in our soul.
Ongoing personal repentance is a gift from Jesus that replaces any lukewarmness that comes from self-sufficiency (Rev. 3:17 "need of nothing"). Jesus is calling His church to "overcome" and to "sit down with Me on My throne" (Rev. 3:21) through radical repentance. "...be zealous therefore, and repent."
